What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals. All physiotherapists registered to practice in Canada are qualified to provide safe and effective physiotherapy. They have met national entry-level education and practice standards and have successfully passed a standardized physiotherapy competency examination prior to being registered with the college of physiotherapists in their province/territory.
Physical therapists are experts in helping people recover, and manage issues related to the musculoskeletal system. Treatment may include manual-therapy (muscle release, or joint mobilization), IMS (Intramuscular-Stimulation), or exercise.
Physical therapists are also experts in exercise prescription. This can be used to help recover from injury, or can be used to help reduce injury risk. Please don't think an injury is necessary to work with a physical therapist.

If you created you profile online, most relevant information would have been collected. However, arriving 5-minutes early is recommended to ensure any additional, or required paperwork is collected. What precautions are you taking for covid-19?
Here at Harbourside Physiotherapy and Health, patient safety is our top priority. A thorough outline can be found under the Covid-19 tab along our directory board at the top of the webpage. Prior to each appointment each patient will be emailed a pre-screening to ensure no Covid-like symptoms are being experienced. The patient will then be re-screened in clinic prior to their appointment by their Physiotherapist (assuming 'no' was answered on the pre-screening). If a patient answers 'yes' on any of the prescreening questions emailed to them, they will be asked to cancel their appointment until their symptoms resolve.
Additionally, you and your Physiotherapist will be in face masks during the session.
Finally, all appropriate social distancing measures while in the clinic will be in place.

While we are happy to see people who have been injured at work, we do not bill, or deal with, WSBC directly.
